Hooray for the weekend! It has been a rough week in different aspects.

Work was tough this week on a few accounts not the least of which are some rude and obnoxious patients. Really, people.
I also seem to have no guts and so went along quietly with a major decision I really didn't want to and now feel stuck. But at this point I am looking at it this way- I put up with a lot, and I mean a lot of @$*& over the years, and this is my reward. If I make it that long. I wish I could be like other people and not care about hurting others so much. Yes, I really do.

Today was the second day in a row that I saw a Red Tailed hawk on my way home from work. That is a blessing to me. What a beautiful creature.

maybe?

I'm playing on the computer but listening to the tv in the other room. Psychic Kids is on A&E...one is an empath. I think I am one of those, but have never developed it...hmmm.

Ok, so went to look up psychic empath on Wikipedia. Nothing. But psychic vampire... yes.

A friend sent me quote from Proverbia.net she thought I might like:

Life becomes real only when we begin to face and solve our own problems.
Until then we only swim in circles in a large fantasy world which tends to make us very tired of living.
Don't waste energy! Face life now!

So, I guess I'll be staying for a few months at least. Because I am weak. But at least everyone else will be happy. What else is new.

moments

Too much that can't be said. Nothing much that can.
The weekend weather was perfect.
Jeff and Carrie came by last night and we played cards and talked till nearly 2 am. It was a good night.
I do love to watch the bats fly at dusk. One little, one big. It relaxes me.
I am so very glad that some happy hats no longer fit. They never should have in the first place. The ones that are knitted now are a gazillion times better. My heart...

Spookie does not like the firecrackers, lol. He shot out of the window like he was shot!
My nerves are just about shot. I'm sure you knew the feeling. Under you skin it just seems to hum all the time...
Tomorrow is the big picnic. Let's all put our happy hats on and give an Emmy worthy performance.
It will be fun none the less. I can forget some crap and enjoy my family for a bit.
What to do, what to do.

numb

The menu for Thursday is pork chops rather than chicken. They will, however, still be marinated in baja citrus marinade. I believe we are also having corn on the cob. And milkshakes for dessert.

Sent my mp3 player back on Saturday. I miss it. Now the other one I got as a gift for someone, has frozen while turning it on...GRRR. It's been like that for 24 hours. Will the battery ever die?! Very frustrating.

I am looking forward to and dreading the weekend. Lots of fun stuff to do with people I love, and too much to do at the same time. I should have taken off Monday. I'll be wiped out.

no over 60 cleavage!

Tonight we went out for dinner at what we thought was The Captain's Cove. We ate at the main part which is Mountain Springs restaurant. I guess it's a good thing we didn't eat outside at the Cove, because it poured! Anyway, we went for the lobster tail special. The food was good, and the drink I had was...oh, heavenly!!
I had a peanut butter martini. yes, you read it correctly, and it was fabulous. And what you get is actually two drinks. They bring out the one in a martini glass and along with that is a refill set in a tiny little pitcher on ice. Drink #2! Yum. We both got the lobster special. Along with that came a salad and two sides- I got roasted red potatoes and sauteed mushrooms, and Kev got a baked and the mushrooms... which when we got our bill, we were charged for the potatoes... I don't know. And no, we didn't say anything. I was a bit loopy. I am very much a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. In fact when he brought the bill, I just slapped my card inside! It could have been the waiters electric bill, or anything! Anyway, the food was very good. Lobster is very yummy.
The drawbacks are that it was VERY NOISY IN THERE!!! I don't get it. Did people suddenly forget how to use their inside voices? And also, until about the last 1/2 hour, we were the youngest people in the place. Maybe THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THEY ALL NEEDED TO TURN UP THE HEARING AIDS.
Also, Everything took forever. I was very hungry when we got there. That could have been part of the loopy problem...and the drink was so good... Anyway, it took about 10 minutes to send someone to our table, another 15 minutes to get the drinks. Evidently the waiter had to go out to the Cove for Kev's Mojito. ? Uh, okay. I guess they don't make those fancy tropical drinks at the bar 20 feet away from us. Go figure. So, we got there around 6:50 and finally ate around 7:45. We even got dessert which was another peanut butter and chocolate concoction involving peanut butter mousse. Not too shabby. All in all, the food was good, but if we were to go back it would have to be out at the cove with, hopefully the younger, under 80 crowd.
